Our Wiki's Stats: 11,889 edits, 239 main articles and 0 active users

Welcome to the Guild! Here you can relax and enjoy all that we offer. Roleplayers are welcome, as are poets and writers. We welcome you all, and thank you in advance for coming to this wiki!

A little about this wiki:
We have put so much time and effort into keeping this organized for all users to come. We allow poetry and other types of writing, as well and fanfictions (as long as they are appropriate), and roleplays! Consider this your little haven, your little piece of heaven to come and socialize, interact, and just have fun! While we do maintain rules and standards, we appreciate each and everyone of the users that contributes to this wiki.

If you are new here, reading this, and planning to stay, we will see you soon.

Without further ado, we welcome you to the Guild.

A Message From Our Founder
Main Founder: Bach Co-Founder: Slay and Wonder

I am very happy to welcome you to this Wiki. It has been a dream of mine to make a place like this for quite awhile now. I started out on just normal encyclo wiki's, then got involved in specific topic roleplay wiki's (Hogwarts rp briefly, then for 3 1/2 years on Camp Half-Blood rp which we are closely affiliated with). Something always felt missing though, I mean I loved the CHBRP Wiki, but my heart always felt like my creativity was being held back with only one activity and one topic.

This led to the creation of this Writing AND Roleplaying Guild Wiki, a place for all your creative desires to be unleashed on the world. I hope you will see this place as a refuge for you to be yourself, to make new friends, to create all your deepest desires. We aren't just a wiki, we are a home away from home, a refuge from the outside world. If you ever need anything at all, please do not hesitate to contact me personally whether you need advice, help with ideas, or anything at all.

Thank you for visiting us, I hope you enjoy your time here and decide to join us.

Cheers!

Full Getting Started Guide: Guide To Edit this template go here.
Are you new here? Just starting out? Here is a brief overview of how to get started, for the full length guide, go here.
Step 1 - Creating an Account
You have to have an account to edit here, if you don't have one yet, you may have noticed you can't edit at all, the reason for this is because it is against Wikia's policies for anyone 12 or under to be on this site (if you are 12 or younger you may have noticed you had to lie about your age to join, tsk tsk).
Step 2 - Reading our Policies

You're new, you're going to make mistakes, it would be unrealistic to think that sitting down and reading every single one of our policies will keep that from happening. I'd suggest at least looking them over (see full policies here), as well as the full Guide. I'd suggest paying the most attention to any policies pertaining to creating characters, as those will be the most relevant to you as you start your journey here.

An Overview of Our Ratings
Full Rating Policy: Here To Edit this template go here.
Are you new here? Just starting out? Here is a brief overview of our rating system to get you started, to see the full page go here. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
G MPAA rating
"Rated G."

This story is suitable for readers of all ages. There are no drugs or sexually explicit content mentioned in the story at all. There is no nudity and body parts are not described in a sexual way. There is no severe cussing (outside of maybe things like darn) and violence is not described in great detail. Language may sometimes be impolite, but does not use expressions that would not be found in common, everyday conversation (ie. "What the Heck" and "Screw off" are okay if used rarely). There should be absolutely zero mention of pedophilia or rape.

Pg
"Rated PG."

A story rated PG might not be appropriate for young children. Romantic situations may be described with some details, though anything explicit is left to the reader's imagination. There may be more violent and scary scenes than would be found in a G story. Wounds and injuries may be described with some graphic explanations. Generally, the story will include some mature themes, characters and actions. Descriptions of drug use, if included, are vague. Occasionally, characters may use light swear words in frustration but not very often.

Pg-13
"PG-13."

Includes mature stories that may include occasional scenes of a lightly sexual or violent nature. There might be mention of drug use or abuse and other mature themes that could be inappropriate for younger readers. Characters use more mature language and swearing. Sexual scenes are described with some details, but shouldn't be overly dwelt on. Stories rated PG-13 may also contain some graphic descriptions of violence and injury and reveal darker and more mature motives behind characters' actions than is appropriate for younger readers.

R
"Rated R."

The content of the story is considered "adult". Mature themes including violence, sexuality, strong language and substance abuse can be included, but must be used to drive forth the story plot rather than to sensationalize it. R rated content may include stories that touch upon or refer to themes such as: serious drug use, prostitution, sex, suicide, and all types of abuse. Please note that graphic or exploitative depictions of any of the preceding may result in your story being removed from this Wiki and further corrective action could be taken if found necessary. This policy applies to textual content as well as any images and videos associated with a story. A story or roleplay found inappropriately marked will be seen as a severe policy violation, if you mark something as anything other than Rated R despite being clearly just that, severe corrective action will be taken.

An Overview of Our Policies
Full Policy Page: Policies To Edit this template go here.
Are you new here? Just starting out? Here is a brief overview of our policies to get you started, to see the full page go here. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
Adoption
"Saving a Story or Character from Oblivion."

A character or story may be put up for adoption at any time. To do so, simply go to the adoption request page and edit the page accordingly. You also need to add the Template:Adoption Template to the top of the character or story in question.

Categories
"The proper way to use Categories."

Categories are an important tool on this wiki. With categories it helps to keep track of pages as far as if they belong to the writing area or the roleplay area. They also help to keep track of our Rating System and to whom the pages belong. When it comes to the rating system however, this will be one of the most important categories to be accurate. If you mark a story as PG-13, but the story clearly should have been Rated R, that mistake could result in deletion of the story and/or further corrective action.

Characters
"Characters for Roleplay or for Story Bio's."

As this isn't a singular roleplay wiki about a singular topic/world, the character policies may be a bit different than some users are accustomed to from other Wiki's. Compared to some wiki's they may seem downright lax and laid back, which is the goal of having a larger scope Wiki.

Chat
"Chat is for everyone, be respectful."

Chat is one of the main forms of communication for our wiki outside of talk pages. In general Chat should be treated with respect to those others in chat. Conversations kept friendly, no bullying, spamming, screaming, crude or rude behaviour, etc. In other words, treat people in chat like you would like to be treated. Enforcing chat rules can be hard, as there are lots of grey areas as to what is acceptable behaviour at times, especially with so many people in so many age groups from so many walks of life. What is funny to one person, might be hurtful or crude to another person, so if a user asks you to change topics because they are uncomfortable, please respect them.

General Policies
"This and That, Odds and Ends."

Not all things that need to be mentioned in policies require an entire page to themselves, this is just a few miscellaneous odds and ends.

Images
"Making sure the perfect image, is the appropriate image."

In the process of making characters, most users like to find pictures from somewhere around the internet to represent their character. Because doing so is very popular, it is necessary to have a few ground rules for the use of pictures. One important basic rule to always keep in mind, is copyright, there is lots of free use and fair use images out there, but if you find images that have blatant copyright and water marks over the image, you shouldn't use the image. Some sites, like DeviantArt, may not have markings on the image itself, but on the source page that clearly state the author's wishes for use of the image, please respect this.

Inactivity
"User Inactivity."

Life off the internet doesn't always make it possible for us to do everything we wish we had time for. However, the aim of this wiki is to be a place for you to escape from your life and kick back, relax and enjoy yourselves. Because of this we will try to be laid back and accommodating to everyone's schedules. Bottom line though, please at least try to keep people updated as to when you will or won't be around, especially if you are on the Administration Team or in one of the Wiki Help Groups.

Multiple Accounts
"Multiple Accounts vs Sock Puppets"

All the accounts a user controls will be treated as the same person. In short, registering another user name does not allow someone to create a new identity for themselves: it won't allow a user to circumvent a block or vote more than once. Being caught using a second account on our wiki, that wasn't declared, especially one used to circumvent policies or use in a malicious manner, will be an automatic permanent block from our wiki.

Plagiarism
"The cardinal sin of writers."

Plagiarism is a lot like a white lie, something that most likely we have all done at one time or another whether we meant to or not. Maybe we were desperate for a good grade, maybe we figured no one would ever find out, and I'm sure there are going to be times that maybe no one will find out, but that doesn't make it right. Whether you are taking someone's coding they worked hard on, copying bits of a story they wrote or using an image that doesn't belong to you, without their permission it isn't an OK thing to do, and it is not something that will be tolerated on this Wiki. If you are caught plagiarizing or using things that do not belong to you, appropriate corrective action will be taken in accordance to the severity of the transgression.

Ratings
"Ratings System"

This Wiki is to provide for you a space to let your creativity fly as free as possible, whether it be in roleplay or writing. We want users to be free to write, but we also want this place to be friendly and welcoming to all users of varying ages, varying backgrounds, beliefs, etc. Though we do not want to be too limiting to content, we do want to make sure all stories and roleplays are marked appropriately so that any users reading will understand and be warned in advance what to expect. We want to create a comfortable place for everyone and part of that includes ensuring that all members are fully aware of the type of content that they are reading before they dive in. That’s why we encourage writers to rate their stories as they see fit and reserve the right to override these ratings as needed.

Roleplay
"Roleplay do's and don'ts."

Now in general role play can be a lot of fun, but sometimes people may take things a little far, feeling like that because it is taking place in a fictional world that has been created, the real world rules of etiquette don't apply any more. This however is far from the case, there is a wide range of ages that participate here, which is why the rating system is so important to help users feel welcome and aware of their surroundings. There is also a big difference between fun roleplay and using this site as an excuse to bully and harass. Aside from general rules of etiquette, we also have to have rules in place to keep things fair to all users involved, this involves having policies in place to ensure fair play by avoiding things like meta-gaming, godmodding and being generally OP with roleplay and characters. Anyone familiar with other roleplay sites and games should be familiar with these concepts, but we will go over them in detail just in case.

User Blogs
"Using blogs respectfully and appropriately."

Blogs are a popular feature on many wikis. Sometimes though, blogs can get out of hand. In general some level of common sense should be used with blogs, they should be appropriate, polite, on topic, they should have a point to them, and so forth. Some good reasons to create a blog might be to talk about a major event in your life like a birthday, or to announce a roleplay idea you'd like help with, or to announce having to go inactive. Bad reasons to make blogs would be things like asking for help with something (we have a Questions & Answers Board for questions), just to say hi, roleplaying.

User Levels
"Climbing the Wiki Ladder of Optional Levels."

After a user joins the Wiki and learn their way around, some users may want to get even more heavily involved in the upkeep and growth of the Wiki. There are four levels of User Rights that can be obtained for this, Chat Moderators, Rollbacks, Administrators and Bureaucrats. With higher positions of power come great responsibility. You will be enforcing the rules here and therefore must be even more accountable to your actions and set a good example for others to follow. If you feel you meet these requirements, you may request here.

User Sigs
"To sign, or not to sign."

Always remember to sign messages you leave on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) This lets readers know who said what and makes discussions easier to follow. Signatures are also used for voting on things and in debates and various other things around the wiki, because of this it is important that they are properly coded and remain tasteful and appropriate. It would be better to have a boring signature, than to have one that is coded so poorly that it breaks the coding of everything around where it is used.

Voting
"A democratic Wiki."

When discussions or debates take place, often the outcome might be holding a vote. Votes take place for a variety of reasons. When a vote is taking place, users will vote for one of the options. If the user chooses, he/she can give a reason why he/she votes for one. Some voting will be open to all users who have at least 5 edits on the Wiki, some only for users on the Admin Team (Chat Mods, Rollbacks, Administrators and Bureaucrats). However, all users are entitled to adding their opinions under comments, even if they can't vote. Just because the vote may not count, doesn't mean your opinion shouldn't be heard or taken into consideration.

Warnings & Blocking
"The consequences of breaking the rules."

Blocking is the means by which an administrator prevents a user account from editing here on the the Wiki. Blocks are preventive rather than punitive measures used to prevent damage by dealing with vandalism and enforcing policies. Block durations may vary, depending on the severity and longevity of policies broken. Sufficient written warnings should always be given before resorting to a block, unless the severity of the rule breaks demands coarser action. Over time, depending on the severity of warnings, a user's slate may be considered wiped clean, but only if they go at least 6 months with no further rule breaks.

Writing Rules
"The cardinal sin of writers."

Writing is the other 'half' of the wiki, though roleplay is also a form of writing. This encompasses everything from fanfiction to poetry to full blown stories. It is a way for you to not just write, but also to collaborate with others and get feedback about your writing. Because you are writing your things out there for all to see, you must expect feedback to some degree. We will try to keep people friendly, but you can't expect to never get any constructive criticism at all on your work. If you don't want people to have opinions about your writing at all, you probably should be keeping it in a private journal somewhere in your room.

Looking to immerse yourself into a more detailed world of Camp Half-Blood? Head over to our affiliates!!!

There are two types of affiliation you can have with this wiki. They are both outlined below.
Top Level This means that the wiki's become very intertwined to the point of being like sister wiki's. Instead of just being on our Main page, you get content space and any other accommodations depending on what type of Wiki you are. You can utilise our blogs to announce updates, events, etc for your wiki. The two wiki's may participate in cross wiki events if appropriate.
Regular Affiliation In return for being added on your main page, we add a blip about you in the affiliate section of our main page with links.

Do you have a wiki that would like to affiliate with us? Here are the basic guidelines in order to make that happen:
1. You must be someone who has permission to speak for the wiki to authorise new affiliates.
2. The Wiki should be reasonably active, with no more than a few days to a couple of weeks with 0 edits.
3. The wiki should have at least 50 content pages.
4. The wiki should be at least one month old and have an active Admin team
5. Choose whether you want to be a top level affiliate, or a regular affiliate.
6. The Wiki shouldn't conflict with any of our current affiliates. For instance, we are already affiliated with a Camp Half-Blood RP Wiki, so we will not Affiliate with any other wiki's that involve this topic, as that would be rude and unfair to them.
7. Speak with any Admin or Bureaucrat.

Writing

Roleplay

There is no claiming here, no approval process. You can view the types of worlds we have set up already for roleplaying here at the Roleplay Portal page. If you don't see what you want there, have no fear, we can add anything you want, the sky's the limit, not even, there is no limit to what we will do to accommodate your roleplaying needs.

As far as making character pages for your characters, it's as simple as clicking create a new page, and getting to work. It doesn't really matter how OP or crazy you make a character, because you can make sure to pair up with users who are ok with that character's qualities/powers. You do need to make sure to put a header on the character pages, a generic one the wiki provides can be found here but feel free to customise your own as long as you have the same information listed. These headers are for your ease in helping other users know the most important information about your characters so they'll know if it fits with what they are looking for in roleplay partners.

Once you are ready to start roleplaying and you have a partner, there are a few ways this can be done. You can create a page right off the page itself, and roleplay that way, or you can go to the forum boards and set up an roleplay there based on location, character or event. In the forum boards you may use word bubble templates for speech if you desire, but that it completely optional.

No Roleplaying On Page Comments!!! Page comments are for out of character communication only.

As this Wiki has been created in the hopes to give users a place where they can create their heart's desires and let their imaginations run wild without hindrance. If you can't seem to find what you are looking for, or have ideas to allow users to create in ways we have yet to think of, please bring them to our attention. There are of course the usual roleplay etiquette that must be followed, as well as a rating system to adhere to (basically no porn/XXX) and some important general guidelines.
